Extra Fees at Airlines

More fees, are you kidding me? Airline’s charging extra for bags, and now they are going to charge for printing a ticket! I flew to Miami’s South Beach in Florida several months ago.  I bought a cheap airline ticket through Cheapo Air. They sent me to Spirit Airlines. At the time of booking it was the cheapest. I thought I had found a great deal.

When I arrived at the airport and tried to check in, I was told I had to pay a $28 fee per checked bag.  I wasn’t real concerned at that point because it was just a few day stay and my entire luggage fit the description of carry-on. I then was told my carry-on luggage will cost me $30 each bag. I had no idea that there would be an extra charge for baggage.

I started calculating my fees.  I had two carry-on bags. That translated into $60 each way. I was furious. My cheap ticket had now cost me a total of $120 more for this trip. I wanted my luggage with me so I paid the extra to have it above my head. This great price to travel on Spirit Airline had now cost me more than all the other tickets that were available at the time I booked my flight.

Okay, so back to what they want to do now. Airlines want to charge you a $5 fee to print your airline ticket at a check in booth instead of printing it at home. I am beginning to wonder what we do get for the money we shovel out to purchase a ticket. Most airlines won’t even offer a free soda anymore. Most are charging a $3- $5 charge for drink.

So let me sum it up for you. They are going to charge you for your luggage, charge you for a drink, and now that want to charge you for printing your ticket. I can’t believe it. I bought the ticket for $223. But to get the ticket there, I have to pay another $5 to print the ticket I just bought. Does this sound crazy to anyone else?
