Week 2

Week 2
Your body: Although you will not find out for several weeks to come, your baby’s sex has already been determined. Within a week of fertilization, one egg has divided into 250 cells. Your uterine lining, which will nourish the baby, is developing, and your body secretes follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), which stimulates an egg to mature. At the end of this week, the egg will be released into the fallopian tube. If you have unprotected sexual intercourse with your partner at this time, you will most likely become pregnant and your baby will be conceived.
